Scott Derrickson

Scott Derricksonis an American director, writer, and producer best known for his distinctive work in the horror genre, as well as his contribution to blockbuster superhero cinema.

Derrickson first gained widespread attention with the supernatural courtroom drama The Exorcism of Emily Rose, which blended legal storytelling with psychological horror. He further established his reputation with Sinister, a critically acclaimed and commercially successful film that became a modern genre staple.

He continued exploring dark, atmospheric storytelling with The Black Phone, a hit that reinforced his standing as a leading voice in contemporary horror. Derrickson returned to the franchise with its sequel, Black Phone 2.
